DARIO BERTERO
Dario Bertero was born in Vinovo in 1948. The family tradition was started by his grandfather, Filiberto, who had opened a coat lining production and sales company in 1907. Dario's father, Michele, founded F.lli Bertero S.p.A., which by the mid-sixties had reached a leading position on the Italian market.
After graduating from the Industrial Textile School in Torino, Dario Bertero started managing the family business alongside his father, then Chairman and Managing Director. Over the years, Dario highlighted his managerial and negotiating skills, reaching an agreement with Chargeurs, a wool and lining company listed at the Paris Stock Exchange, in 1987, that would become a F.lli Bertero S.p.A. shareholder.
In the years from 1983 to 1997, as Managing Director, he operated to create sound international basis for the company and to additionally develop the distribution and marketing network in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and America. He opened two branches - one in France and the other in the USA. With an export revenue of 65%, the company was widely acknowledged as a prestigious world market business.
In 1998, he founded DB International, a service company specialised in providing consulting and support to textile and clothing operators. Dario Bertero's most recent successes include the foundation of the Made in Italy association for clothing accessories. He was chairman of the Fit (Finest Italian Trimming) consortium, of which he was a founding member, from 1993 to 1998.
Since February 2000, Dario Bertero has been member of the board of IFM, Institut Français de la Mode and he is partner of Sistema Moda Italia, the Italian textile and clothing industry association. He is also member of IACDE (International Association Clothing Designers and Executives) as Industrial Chapter and has been member of ANTIA (Associazione Nazionale Tecnici dell'Abbigliamento) since October 2000.

A century after, in the same building that accommodated the store and the room of the Bertero family, Dario Bertero has given life to the DB International.
